I was recently given the opportunity to test out the Speekee -Spanish for Kids program. This program is geared towards children 2 to 11, and is the most comprehensive spanish learning program for kids, to ever appear online.
Founded in 2006, Speekee has built a reputation for quality Spanish, and claims to be loved by 98% of all homeschoolers.
I love the idea of Speekee, and I love the idea of my children learning it at a young age. We all know that when they get into high school, they will likely have to take a foreign language, and Spanish is usually the go too foreign language course. So the idea of giving my kids a head start was great.
I was given a 3 month online subscription to the program, and logged in immediately to see what the program was all about. The program itself is an immersion program, which means it is completely in Spanish. However, you do have the options of turning on subtitles so that you know what is going on. It also comes with worksheets that you can use together with the lessons.
To be honest, I can’t say that I am overly fond of the program. It was hard to follow along, even with the subtitles, the videos seemed cheap, and neither of my kids (3 and 7) seemed interested in what was going on. I was really hoping that my kids would enjoy this program, and I do plan to finish out my subscription until the end. Maybe, with a bit more time, and as they start to recognize more of the words, this program will grow on my children. As of right now though, I can’t really say that I will use the program once my subscription ends.
Perhaps this program would be better suited for children that have already learned some Spanish, and need refresher courses, or something more to learn on.
I do want to give someone a chance to try the program for themselves, and so, Speekee is offering a 3 month subscription to one winner. Please enter using the rafflecopter form below.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
