TeacherSherpa for fun educational materials! | #Thanksgiving

As a homeschooling mom of a child with Autism, finding fun educational materials to use during our morning work is essential to making sure his day gets started on a positive note. Thankfully there is TeacherSherpa, a site that provides fun lessons for all grade levels and subjects. They have tons of fun holiday-themed lessons as well! Well, with Thanksgiving right around the corner, this is the perfect time to work on some of those lessons!

I searched the site and decided that one of the lessons that my son might like is this Thanksgiving Word Work. Meant for grades Pre-K – 1st grade, it is still a fun lesson for my son. It has several worksheets that allow your child to work on their handwriting skills by tracing different words, as well as spelling, and picture recognition. It is a great way to get the day started!

“Students have to look at a picture and trace both words in upper and lower case that shows the word related to the picture. Then, they have to write both the first and the last letter of the given word. After this, they have to trace a sentence and read it to his partners or just spell each word of it.” ~TeacherSherpa

Another really fun set I came across that is a little more in depth, is the Thanksgiving Mini Unit. This one is a lot of fun because it contains several lessons. In this set you get:

A T- Chart to complete information about the Native American and the Pilgrim.

•    1 bubble map to write words related to Native American

•    1 bubble map to write words related to Pilgrim

•    1 quiz with 8 questions about Thanksgiving in the past and in the present

The thing I love most about TeacherSherpa is that the educational materials are high quality, so you know your kids are learning from the best of the best in not only FREE resources but resources created by actual teachers. The resources are approved by TeacherSherpa before they are made available to you, and when you find one that you like you can download it, save it, or edit those that are editable. One thing that I like is that you can preview the lessons BEFORE you download or save, so you can make sure that it is EXACTLY what you are looking for.

When you sign up for a TeacherSherpa account, you get 2 free downloads, want unlimited downloads? You can opt for the premium service for just $3 a month! I am so glad that I found this service, and I will most definitely be using it a lot! So, if you are a homeschooling family or even a public school family, that just wants something more for your kids, please check out TeacherSherpa, you will be so glad that you did!
