In his book Clean Food Diet, Johnathan helps us discover:

  • What is clean eating is
  • What to eat
  • How to eat clean
  • How to cook clean

  • As Jonathan mentions in this book, beginning a clean eating “diet” or lifestyle can be hard, because we are accustomed to processed foods that are so readily available in the average grocery store. Even if we all wanted to jump headlong into a clean eating lifestyle, the price of that lifestyle will stop most people in their tracks. Sadly, processed foods are cheaper, but with the right planning we can eliminate them from our diets without breaking the bank.

Jonathan has included more than 50 recipes, that he has divided into categories:
    • Appetizers
    • Soups
    • Salads
    • Main Dishes
    • Desserts

One of my favorite recipes is the Fall Soup:

This soup combines what this season has to give us best: squash, bell peppers and tomatoes. The ingredients are pureed together to create a creamy and rich soup, perfect for a comforting lunch or dinner. Time: 45 minutes Servings: 8

There are 50 recipes for delicious green smoothies, and my favorite, given the season, is the Sweet Potato Smoothie.

Raw sweet potato is rich and creamy, sweet and delicious and has a high nutritional content, its main nutrients being beta-carotene. This recipe asks for a touch of spinach for a nutritional boost, but you can replace the spinach with any other fruit or vegetable. Servings: 4

    Ingredients:
    • 1 ripe banana
    • 2 cups fresh spinach
    •  1 large sweet potato, peeled and diced
    • 1 cup almond milk
    • ½ cup crushed ice

Directions: Combine all the ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth and creamy. Pour the smoothie in glasses and serve it as fresh as possible.

Absolutely Delicious, and packed full of all kinds of goodness…I even added a teaspoon of the superfood Spirulina for an added boost of goodness!

I highly suggest getting both of these books, as the recipes are absolutely delicious. Both books can be found on Amazon,  Clean Food Diet is currently free for kindle, and $17.55 (Paperback). Green Smoothies is $3.49 (Kindle), and $12.98 (Paperback).

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
