The Fall Season is officially upon us and with it comes the beautiful colors of the season, as well as holiday fun! One of my absolute favorite parts of fall is the changing of the leaves, sadly I don’t see it as often nor as vibrant as I would in one of the Northern States. Take Ohio for instance, in Cuyahoga Falls they experience some absolutely stunning fall foliage. The really awesome part about this season is that October is when Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad starts it’s Fall Flyer rides.
The Fall Flyer is a 2 hour, non-stop, round trip train ride through Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and believe me when I say that the view looks AMAZING! The Fall Flyer ride runs on Saturdays and Sundays and would be the perfect way to relax with the family and enjoy the view.
Now, I grew up in a small town that came together during the holidays, and celebrated together, so I love finding other small towns that do the same thing. Cuyahoga Falls is one of those towns. From the Halloween Town Trick – or – Treat to the Monster Mash Halloween Bash, this town really knows how to bring the community together. Living in a bigger city now, I miss that small-town connection.
Cuyahoga Falls is also not far from some great places in Ohio; 40 minutes from Cleveland, and just under 2 hours from Columbus, taking a road trip would be a great way to spend a long weekend or a staycation. I tend to lean towards staycations…you would be surprised what you discover in your own backyard!
However, if you are going to take a road trip, you will want to make sure that the vehicle you are driving can handle the trip…even short trips can become a disaster if the car isn’t properly maintained. If you are in the Cuyahoga Falls area, a quick trip to Falls Motor City just to have your vehicle inspected and topped up, would be a great idea. The experts there will be happy to get you ready for your road trip!
Then, pack a few snacks, plan a few road trip games, and plan your route…if you are really wanting to see the Fall Foliage, take a drive through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Stop for a picnic, take some pictures, and make some memories. Maybe go on a bigfoot hunt…see if you can find the mysterious Sasquatch!
This has been a rough year, but I know from experience how relaxing and rejuvenating nature can be…and with the brisk fall air rolling in, now is the perfect time to let go of some of the worries and stress this year has caused. So, get your vehicle tuned up, and get out there with your family…make memories, cross things off your bucket list, and let it all go!
