Fashion Faux Pas or Fashion Fabulous?

Fashion is one of those things that most people will never agree on. Something fashion fabulous for one person might be a fashion faux pas for another. I think a lot of people are in agreement that some of the outfits crossing the catwalk at a fashion show, count as a fashion faux pas…but somehow those hideous outfits are coming from the top designers in the world, and people LOVE them!

You could take any fashion trend in the world, and you will find someone that thinks it is absolutely atrocious; whether it be boho, denim, knee-high boots, scarves, boyfriend jeans…the list goes on and on.

Take for instance gold earrings. That can’t be a bad thing, right? I mean those have been around forever! Sadly yes, there are people out there that wouldn’t be caught dead wearing a pair of gold earrings; regardless of their style. Gold is simply a no go. Seems strange to me, but it happens!

One trend that is strange to me, is the western hats like the ones found at Gonecountryhats.com. No, I am not talking about the hats themselves, I actually like them and think they look fabulous…on the right person. No, what seems strange to me is the trend of pairing them with a frilly dress and high heels. To me, western wear is meant for those that actually live that life…and honestly, I have heard this from cowboys and cowgirls alike. Not just about hats but about boots as well…their opinion? Stop trying to take workwear and glamorize it. You aren’t fooling anyone with your spotless boots and hat…we know you have never mucked out a stall or thrown a bale of hay, and you look like you are afraid of dirt…just stop! (don’t shoot the messenger!)

One fashion trend that it split pretty much fifty/fifty, I don’t even really want to call a trend. For people that have them, tattoos and body piercing aren’t a trend, they are a statement and often times a way of life. It is how they tell their stories, create their art, and so much more. Still, that doesn’t stop some people from feeling like having either means you are a walking fashion disaster.

Want to hear a secret? people that have tattoos and body piercings DON’T CARE how you feel about them! One thing I will say though is that my biggest issue with tattoos or body piercings (I have both), is that some people truly don’t know how to care for them. They end up fading or getting infected, and nobody wants that. I strongly suggest finding a solution for both, such as the cleaners and aftercare products from Reil Cosmetics.

All in all, when it comes to the world of fashion, trends and preferred styles will always be different and they will change like the wind. So, find yourself one that you like, and forget what anyone else says…only you know what you like!
