You keep a clean house, tidy up on a regular basis, and yet you have noticed something that is enough to send shivers down the spine of most people; a cockroach. I hate them, loathe them in fact, and always equated them to someone who was just dirty…that is until I saw them in my own house, and did a little more research. Come to find out, there are several types of cockroaches in the United States, and they like to visit EVERYONE.
No matter how clean of a person you are, there are certain circumstances out of your control, that will bring those disgusting bugs into your home. For us, it was a little work that was being done on the sewer pipes near our house. It started with spotting one in the bathroom sink; odd to me because I would have figured if I was going to see one, it would be in the kitchen. I mean, isn’t that where they always are?
Anyway, I spotted one in the sink in the hall bathroom, promptly squished it, and didn’t give it another thought. That is until I saw another one, then another one after that. All of them in the bathroom sinks…yep, you read that right. Sinks, as is plural, as in they had spread to the master bathroom too. Oh no, this is NOT happening in my house; it is disgusting and makes my skin crawl.
So, I did a little research, and apparently we were being visited by American Cockroaches, which scatter, as cockroaches do when their habitat is disturbed. American cockroach habitat? yep, you guessed it, sewer pipes. So here we are, fighting bugs, and losing. We have kids and a cat, none of them need to be around a bunch of chemicals, open traps, and least of all, bugs.
So, when I was asked if I wanted to give a new type of sticky bug trap a try, I jumped at the chance. This bug trap was tested by the Department of Entomology at Texas A&M and was given a big thumbs up from their assistant professor. So, I gave Happy Cornerz a try, and I am beyond impressed with not only the trap itself but the ways in which it can be used to trap and monitor the bug issues you might have.
Happy Cornerz is a 3-in-1 corner monitoring trap, that can be used to trap any number of creepy crawlers in your house. Roaches, spiders, bed bugs, ants, flys, silverfish, wasps, mosquitoes; honestly, I could keep going, but I think you get the point. Whatever kind of bug that has taken residence in your home, can be taken care of with these traps.
To test them out, I set about installing them in the bathrooms, where I had noticed these nasty little visitors. I placed them both on the outside of the countertop and cabinet, as well as inside the cabinet. It was a pretty easy install, given that these traps are designed to be installed in both upper and lower corners. However, take a bit of care when installing, because THEY. ARE. STICKY! Seriously, heed my warning, grab the edges or you are going to end up trapping yourself.
So, once installed, I left the traps for just over a week, and you won’t believe what I came back to! The traps have a little hole in the center for those little creeps to crawl into. Once they do, they get caught on the sticky glue on the other side, and once stuck, they aren’t going anywhere. Installing these traps in the corners is brilliant because that’s where most creepy crawlies live, not just roaches.
Spiders are very fond of corners; want to know who is not fond of spiders? Yep, this mama right here. I hate them and contemplate burning down my house every time I see them. I’m joking…maybe. Well, they have something new to contend with now; Happy Cornerz. Sure you stupid spider, crawl into that hole, but you won’t be coming back out! Insert maniacal laugh *here*
Another great feature of the Happy Cornerz glue traps is that you can use these 3 ways, hence the 3-in-1 feature. Option 1, use them flat on shelves as a large flat trap. Option 2, tear them along the perforated edges and use them as 3 smaller flat traps. Option 3, tear at the perforated edges and use it as 2 small flat traps, and one upper/lower corner trap. Aside from the fact that these traps *actually* trap the bugs, my favorite feature is that because of the way they are made, you don’t ever see the bugs because the sticky side is on the backside.
Once you have done your due diligence in removing the pests, keeping one or two up in the spots that were the “hangout” is great for monitoring, and preventative measures. I don’t think I will ever use another method of pest control again. This is by and far the best insect and pest monitoring system I have ever seen, not the mention the best DIY pest control. No need to call in expensive companies, that will likely want to spray some gross chemical that calls for leaving your house all day and night.
If you have kids, pets, and creepy crawler pests, Happy Cornerz will give you back a happy house WITHOUT risking the health of your kids and pets. Additionally, these traps can be used for commercial properties as well. As for me and my family, Happy Cornerz will have our back from here on out, because it proved without a doubt that it worked.
I will be placing them throughout the house come this Spring and Summer when I know that a whole new host of bugs will start making the rounds in North Texas. Finally, I will be able to open my windows without worrying about flies, and spiders still won’t stand a chance. I could not be more pleased with the outcome, and I am so glad to have my bathrooms back!
