In this book, Terry Treetop Saves the Dolphin, Terry is on vacation at a marine nature reserve. He spots a pod of dolphins playing in the nearby cove, and it captivated by them.
As he moves closer, the older dolphins move away, but the baby dolphin moves closer, just as captivated with Terry and he is by the dolphins.
Sadly, the baby dolphin gets caught in a fisherman’s net. So, Terry goes on an adventure to find help, to rescue the baby dolphin.
My 3 year old daughter was on the edge of her seat, waiting to hear what happened next, and she was distressed when we read about the baby dolphin getting stuck.
I think this is a great book for teaching about keeping the environment clean, so that the animals can survive, and also about helping those that are in need. After reading this one, we went back a read the other books in this series, before she fell asleep for the night!
In Abigail and the Sahara Adventure, we go with Abigail as she once again is visiting her grandparents.
With the thoughts of her last adventure still in her head, she rushes to the attic to find the bicycle still there.
She recites the words, and this time finds herself flying over the Sahara desert, where she meets a little girl named Jasmine.
Jasmine introduces Abigail to her family, and Abigail helps the family find water in an oasis that she spotted when she was flying overhead.
When she returns home, her grandmother thinks she is telling stories, but grandfather knows the truth.
My daughter likes how Abigail can go on adventures on her magical bike, and has asked her daddy to make her one…we will see how that goes! 😉 She is also very fond of the bright colors of the illustrations, it definitely makes the books come to life for her.
If you are looking for cute, simple little books to read with your kids, you can find both of these books on Amazon. Terry Treetop Saves The Dolphin is .99 (Kindle) or $8.18 (Paperback), and Abigail and the Sahara Adventure is $1.00
