Pool Noodle Painting

Pool noodles make fabulous paint stampers and can be fun for all ages as the sky is the limit with imagination. Cut off a 4-inch section of a pool noodle. At its most basic, you can stick the end of that noodle into a tray of paint, set it securely on a piece of paper, and you are painting with a pool noodle. But, if you put something that creates texture into the painting end of the noodle, like thumbtacks, a piece of mesh, or even a piece of foil, you will find a different result. The ends of the noodle can even be cut into different shapes. Imagine the possibilities.

Pool Noodle Ball Toss

This activity uses pool noodles duct-taped together to make circles of different sizes. Place the most giant ring on the ground, the next smaller ring inside it, and so on and so forth. You can assign point values, just like on a dartboard, for every open area of grass or floor. Score points by landing a ball in that area. Make the smallest circle the highest number of points, and the biggest the smallest. It can be played by kids of all ages. Not difficult enough for the bigger kids? Well, move the rings back several feet and try lobbing a ball in there. Not so easy, huh? If you want a different challenge, try a different ball.

These are just some of the top games to play with pool noodles. Pool noodles are easy to manipulate and put together, so let your ideas be your guide. Soon enough, you’ll have the kids outdoors and active again.
